Finishing touches going on the new album!

So when we headed into THE PLANT a few months back, we knew we were in for a treat.  To record in a place of so much history, so much repute, and SO MUCH SOUND, was more than many bands can ask for.  However it surpassed our craziest dreams.  The sound we captured is…well…youll have to hear for yourself. The songs are pretty good too. :)

Finishing touches going on now and we expect to go to mixing next month, mastering after, releasing this puppy early 2027 and have ourselves a big ol' show to commemorate its release.

Stay tuned.

HISTORY

The Devil In California delivers heavy, soulful, post-grunge rock songs made in the SF Bay Area. The TDIC sound merges thunderous guitars, crushing bass, and soaring multi-part harmonies in a heavy rock stew for the 20s.

Founded by Jamie Cronander (Combichrist) and Matt Stewart (Rusty Chains), the band took shape with the additions of singer Tony Malson (also State Line Empire) and guitar slinger Snake Green (Skinlab, Re-ignition). Their fuel lit fast, landing them on the iconic Bay Area stages of Slims, DNA Lounge, and The Fillmore, alongside legends like Skid Row, Three Days Grace, and John Corabi.

Their debut album Longer Ride Down hit #7 on CMJ’s Hard Rock chart in 2017, with singles “Black Hand” and “Empty Rooms” breaking through.

In 2017 Drummer Randy Rice joined, locking in the new lineup and soon after they release of the venerable sophomore album – “Burning Beauty”.

After a wild ride of lineup changes and global chaos, TDIC entered a new era mid-pandemic by adding Stephen Lynch (Swamphammer, He Who Greets with Fire) and Chuck Howell (Burn River Burn). That crew released the self-titled record in 2023.

With latest addition of Kevin Amann (The Ghost Next Door, Astozombies links) on bass, the band is now poised to rage into the late 20s. The new album was tracked at the world famous PLANT studios, and shall be unleashed upon you in early 2027.

Git ready.
